“Lacquer painting and gold-leaf coating" look easy, but they require sophisticated skills. The gold leaves are 0.0001-millimeter thin and thus extremely delicate. The square-shaped gold leaves are coated neatly, pressed softly, and delicately arranged to present a soft but glittering reflective wall surface.
Experts know the conditions of the lacquers in specific days with particular temperature and humidity. They then adjust to pursue the optimal presentation of beauty. The profound glitters of the eye-catching “Kyoto press(coat)” is very heart-healing indeed.
When entering a tea room, you first appreciate the mat, the hanging scrolls, and flowers of the season. It helps to prepare your mind for the tea ceremony.
Undoubtedly, tools are essential elements in a tea ceremony. Here, you come to know the name and the creator of the cup, which also uplift your enjoyment of the pattern and texture up to another level.
The tea ceremony comes with strict details in all procedures, actions, and etiquette. Watch them, feel them, and be heart-healed by a historical beauty.
Japanese flower arrangement (Kado) is an art to appreciate the ambiance in different seasons with flowers. Tools are also unique to Japan, so learning Kado is like a journey to explore the Japanese spirit of "wabi-sabi" (transience and imperfection).
